BEST TIMES OF DAY TO HAVE YOUR CEREMONY... MORNING (8am start) OR SUNSET (5pm to 6pm start):
We highly recommend either a MORNING or SUNSET ceremony: Why? Cooler weather, better colors for pictures, less people on the beach.
(10am to 4pm is very hot, too uncomfortable to be on the beach in direct sunlight)
Begins about 1 hour before sunset, with a 20 minute ceremony and then after-ceremony pictures leading up to the sun setting on the horizon. A sunset ceremony is the most traditionally requested time for a Maui beach wedding. The sunset colors on the South Side are absolutely the best you will find on Maui.
Morning is one of the most incredible times, just around 8am, to have your ceremony on the beach in the Makena/Wailea area (south side). The light is so soft and the morning sun lights up the water to an incredible aqua blue that you cannot get any other time of the day. Also, you have the rest of the day to celebrate, see the sights and celebrate by attending a Hawaiian Luau in the evening! Here is a morning wedding, showing how beautiful the colors are at this time of day: A Morning Wedding Gallery
Please note, a mid-day ceremony, would be taking place at the hottest time of the day here on our tropical island of Maui, Hawaii. You would not be comfortable on the beach at this time for your ceremony. However, if you prefer a mid-day or early afternoon ceremony, we do have a solution! We highly recommend White Rock Beach or Po'olenalena Beach, both of which have large groves of shady trees, lining most of the length of the beach. Your ceremony can be conducted under the trees, in the comfort of the shade, with the beach and ocean in the background of your pictures, then you can enjoy the after-ceremony beach pictures, walking & posing on the beach.
